Great closing talk, but why is the video not presented in the correct proportions?
The video is squeezed which is horrible to look at.
The Studies in Atemporality set that Bruce Sterling mentions in the talk:

anyone know if there's a transcript anywhere?
Why is there no volume slider? Almost blew out my eardrums when it started.
Great video otherwise.
Downloading from links doesnt work, maybe seed those videos? Or put them on a better server if there is too much load. Thanks!
too much nihilism and bs in 45 minutes. wow, such people get invited to talks?
A sort of transcript from 02008/11 can be found here: http://craphound.com/lastviridian.txt
atemporality = postmodernism?
I've created a visualisation of this talk- I mostly wanted to understand the four quadrants- who was in the Shock of the Old, who belonged to Dark Euphoria. You can find it here: http://katiechatfield.wordpress.com/2009/07/14/where-did-the-future-go/
Nihilism? Really?
Dark euphoria sounds kinda nice to me. It's crisis / opportunity.
Plus it recapitulates all those lovely sci fi novels (like Schismatrix and Heavy Weather) -- it'll feel like living nostalgia for the worlds of my childhood imagination.
Oh, am I performing my age? :)

not so much Nihilism, but rather emergence of the masses. See Gasset, Fromm or Lippman. It's a very negative outlook he has....a wider scope might be more positive.
the listener who expects " i am happy teapot" sterling will generally be disappointed.
Volume control PLEASE!!
Great talk. He is speaking in Berlin on 6 Feb 2010 @transmediale #Berlin. FUTURITY NOW!
